R2400 Question

R2400 Question

2006-05-29 by Carl Socolow

First of all, I want to thank everyone on this list for the invaluable tips
and sharing of knowledge. Without your help I'd be lost. Now I want to pose
a question that I don't recall having come up. Sometimes when I go to print
on my R2400 using a PowerMac G5 via Quadtone RIP I'll do print with preview,
select my settings, the Quadtone 2400 printer, hit print, select my QTR
presets (which have worked beautifully for me in the past) and then hit
print. The printer will go to load the paper (Epson Velvet Fine Art 13x19)
and load it all the way through. I use the sheet feed setting. In the past
the printer would register the paper and commence printing with no problems
using this feed method. Now it goes all the way through. I reload the paper,
hit the paper load button on the printer, it loads and prints properly.
Given that it has worked with no problems in the past I'm wondering if it's
something wrong with the printer such as the feed rollers or if it's a
configuration problem. Thanks in advance and thanks again for all your help.

p.s. I'm crossposting to the QuadtoneRIP list as well so those of you who
receive both thanks for your forbearance.

Hi Carl,

I'm sure you haven't done the stupid thing I forget to do.... That
is check page setup to make sure the image is fitting the correct sheet
size.

Re: R2400 Question

2006-05-29 by csandersoc

Jim,

alas, no. In the print with preview dialoge I can see how it will fit
(centered on the paper) so I get immediate confirmation before I
print. Besides, out of habit, I always check to make sure I have the
right printer selected and the correct paper size. Cross that one off
the list. Thanks.

Carl
