I have the new Quad system....Matte Inks....

My photos are blurred...I have tried every combination of settings I
can think of the the photos are still blurred. I even deleted and re
downloaded the software...

I have a EPSON R300 printer with the Matte Cartridges...if I print
just the the Epson R300 thru their softwear the photos are very clear
so it has to be with the Quad system.

I contacted media street and they said that my Curves should be
R200/300 labeled...my Curves are GQ_GPhotoMatte...

Any suggestions?

Jim

Hi Jim,

I've just heard report of this. The assumption was that R300 was identical
to the R200. This may not be the case. If you could scan 1200dpi a very small
piece of a print and send it to me it should help diagnose the problem.
Some simple horizontal and vertical lines would be good. Use a 720ppi file.

Dear Roy:

Thanks for your response.

I have not been able to print anything with my R300 for a couple of days.
All I get is a I/0 ERROR 32 when I click print. Also there is no 1200 dpi
resolution on the program..there is 720 and 1440. It will no longer print from the
 EpsonPhoto Starter 3.0

Out of frustration I went out and bought an R200 printer. I printed one photo
and since, all I get is I/0 ERROR 32 when I try to print. I cannot print a
regualr image with the R200 software as it will not recognize the ink
cartridges.

I am using a PC...I am using the free Quad download software and have not
paid the $50 for permanent download since the free has not worked. The free is
version is 2.2.3...I keep reading about version 2.2d and saw a post listing a
new 2.2e. Could the software version be the problem?

I am still printing easily with my Canon i9900 so it is not a computer
problem..

I have deleted and re-downloaded both the Quad and my R300 software...no help.

Any Suggestions?

Hi Jim,

I'm not sure about the I/O Error, hopefully Stephen has some ideas.

I'm looking into the R300 problem, (the 1200 dpi was for scanning a print
so I could see the blurred image), but I guess you aren't able to print.
I should be getting a print from MediaStreet so that may good enough.

Something is going wrong with he printer. (Specially since you can't print from
EpsonPrinter Starter.) Check the printer's lights and see what they are
indicating.

Dear Stephen:

Thanks for he response. I was getting an I/O error 32 when trying to print
from QuadTone...
I had to go into Windows and RESTORE to a date previous to my using Quad or
the EPson....then reinstalled allthe software. It solved that problem....

Now when I print, I get dark colors and parallell lines across the photograph
but that is in the printer...

Thanks..

Hi Roy,

I looked in the forum because I just tried QuadToneRip on a new
Epson R320 with the Mediastreet Quad Black inks and got a fuzzy
image. I just posted the test image I printed and scanned in the
Photos section of the forum so you can see the issue. It looks like
the head is out of alignment when it prints and prints some garbage
at the right edge of the paper. I have printed a few images using
the windows print drivers and the image looks fine.

Another thing I saw was when I tried to use the Epson 320 within
QuadeToneRIP, I received an error unable to find driver named "escp2-
R320"!. I used both the R200 and R300 printing model with the same
result.

Please let me know if you would like me to try anything else. I
look forward to an update so I can make full use of the Quad Black
inks.

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt and anyone else with an R300 or R320.

I've discovered the problem with the R300 and presume the R320 is the same.
This is for both the blurriness and the line at edge of paper.

I'm going through some testing and packaging up of a new version with
this fix. It should be available next day or two for both Mac and PC.
