Printing with other than QTR GUI

Printing with other than QTR GUI

2006-09-05 by Diane Fields

I really should stay subbed to this group. I come and go--and
obviously miss things. I always print from the QTR GUI---but see that
others print from PS and Qimage. Since I print color from both of
these, I'm totally sure of my knowledge to print something other than a
QTR file. However---what I'm wondering is how is it possible to
print 'toned' prints from either-- (using the blending which I've
carefully done wedges for on my various papers)? I understand that Roy
created a profile to use with Qimage--but--when you use that, I'm
assuming that you will be printing a neutral gray--am I right or
totally offbase? I'm perfectly happy printing the way I do at present
but really want to be up to speed on the possibilities.

I've also been contemplating purchasing a 2400 to replace my 2200--
primarily for the mono printing, but I see that others are still using
QTR for mono with the 2400--so that pretty much tells the tale for me
on that.

I was hoping that I could find an answer to this. I've done a search
on both printing with Qimage and PHotoshop with QTR but haven't found
anything that answers my questions.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
