Epson 7800 K3 sepia

2006-11-06 by wharfwalker

I started using qtr with an Epson 4000 and it solved a long standing
problem producing realistic looking sepia, especially for restored
Victorian prints. I have now moved to the Epson 7800 with K3 matte
black ink, and the sepia appears to be different. It is not bad, just a
bit subdued and rather similar to the warm profiles. I would say that a
dash more red would enliven the result, which if it was too much I
could control with a mixed tone.
Can anyone suggest why this is the case and what I could do to have a
little more zest in the sepia end of the tones?
Many thanks
John White
