QTR and new curves

Hi all: I have spent several months trying to understand and perfect my curves and icc using an Epson 2200 and NK7-Sepia tone inkset on a Mac with PS CS2. I have several questions regarding my process follows... First I print out the ink seperation.PSD file in calibration mode (with no color management) to determine ink limits...when I look at this print after it dries, it seems that Ink 1 (K) should be 30% but that other inks begin to level off at different %, for example Ink 2 is 45% and Ink 5 is 55% I chose to the limit for Ink 1 and reprinted the ink seperation file is this correct? I then determine the relative % black for each shade of gray and enter these values into a ink descriptor file and then create curve to print out the 21 step wedge to generate the data to linearize the curve---are you suppose to assign the 21 step to 2.2 grayscale or leave it as is? I then used this linearized curve and reprinted the 21 step wedge with no color management to generate data for the icc When I use Keith Coopers test print, I'm close but not dead on...any suggestions thanks in advance, Ron
