Custom papersize?

Custom papersize?

2005-05-24 by Gerrit Bosch

I just installed QuadTone on my MacOSX 10.3.9. Great pictures! Never dreamt that this
could be possible. But I don't manage to print with custom paper sizes on my Epson 7600
UC, wich is rather inefficient. Is there a solution? (I've noticed the question has been
adressed many times, but couldn't discover the solution)

Regards, Gerrit.

Hi Gerrit,

I'm not sure why you are having difficulty -- I've used custom sizes
a lot. You might check your usage by looking at the Tutorial under
custom page size. The OS X interface is a little confusing.

Hello Roy,

I don't understand either. I have been testing different settings, but the problem persists.
Standard pre-defined sizes work ok, using a custom size Photoshop just prints a small
part of the image. The preview showed the correct image.

My configuration: Mac dual G4, 1,25 Ghz, OSX 10.3.9, printer Epson 7600 UC inks,
Ethernet.
I installed QuadToneRIP2.2c using Install7600ipp.command.
I hope you can give a clue.

Regards, Gerrit.

PS. Is somebody using a nice picture-nesting program?

Hi Gerrit,

The only thing I can think off hand is an illegal page size that is getting
reset to the default letter size. I guess I need a specific example.

Your image size, custom paper size. Roll paper or Sheet?
What actually came out i.e. size. Image cropped?
Immediately after the print run DiagnosticScript, copy and paste that output to me too.

Do you perhaps have a paper length defined as less than 7 inches?

That will cause the printer to print about half width for no apparent reason. Actually I am
not sure exactly what the min size is in the current version, but if are under it, you get
partial print.

Scott

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
