Will the current Epson 4000 RIP work with the new Epson 4800?
Thanks...Larry

I don't know definitively, but I'd have to guess no. The 4000 uses up
to 7 ink slots at any one time, and the 4800 will have 8 slots
available for simultaneous use. I'm sure Roy, Stephen or Daniel can
provide a definitive answer.

The question seems premature: Will we need a RIP for BW with the new printers? We have
no idea how the new printers compare with QTR (& IP) on older machines.

On PSNews, Jeff Shewe compared the 2400 to the 2200 with the Epson driver that nobody
uses!

I wish someone would print some test images with one of the new printers & compare
dMax, highlight detail, & overall/subjective print quality to the same images printed with
QTR (& IP) on 2200 & 4000/7600/9600. Then I'd know whether or not I should spend $2K
on a new printer!
