QTR install/uninstall

2007-02-03 by robert49brake

Hello all! I'm hoping someone here can help me with an
install/uninstall problem with QTR 2.4.2 on a G4 Mac running Tiger
10.4.8. I bought QTR some time back to use the Create ICC programs and
hadn't looked at the rest of the program until now. I wanted to try my
hand at profiling and creating curves and have run into a problem
locating all of QTRs elements.

I admit to moving things around a bit willy nilly looking at and using
various portions of the package and probably deleting a few as well in
desktop cleanups. I think I started with 2.4.1 as well. At this point
when I run either the install package trying to regroup the program by
installing over the existing installation or running the uninstall
package to clean up and start over I consistently get a: There were
errors installing the software, flag.

Any suggestions for cleaning up and starting over? Thanks in advance,
Robert.

regarding error message when installing, no answer for this one.

regarding error message when running the uninstall package, do you mean "Remove-
QTR.pkg"? what was the error message? i've tried using Remove-QTR.pkg, and it doesn't
seem to do anything but tells me that there is nothing to uninstall. so i disregarded it and
did this instead to uninstall. if you decide to uninstall this way, please do this at your own
discretion:

1- exit all applications
2- if you've mounted QTRIP2.4 disk image, go to CurveDesign folder
3- open the alias folder, Printers (it points to ppd folder) and remove only the ppd file
that's associated with what QTR installed. *don't touch anything else in here other then to
uninstall ppd files placed in here by QTR's installer script*
4- run "Install-QTR-2.4.3.pkg"

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
