Troubleshoot first B/W prints...not getting good contrast

Troubleshoot first B/W prints...not getting good contrast

2007-02-03 by patmcvicker

Using WinXPHome, AMD Athlon 64, Photoshop CS2, Printing on
HahnemuhleRag, Epson StylusPro7500, K6 inkset. Greyscale, 2.2 gamma,
Tiff format.

I'm a real newbie. Having trouble getting good contrast when I print
at home. This image has been printed professionally with Quad Inks and
looks fabulous so I know it can be done. Any suggestions on what to
try next?
Thx, Pat

I don't want to make this too simple but add contrast to your file. I
would use a levels adjustment or an adjustment curve. That is how I
work, much like the darkroom. Make a print and fix what is wrong on the
next print. I would bet that the professional that has printed for you
makes these corrections...Jeff White
