New memeber question

I am a new member and am hoping to get some help with QTR. I have both an Epson 2200 and 4000. I would like to print on Epson Premium Luster using a selenium toned look. I have been unable to make the curve adjustments. Everything comes out too brown, or there is no differentiation between the lowest 5 steps in the step wedge--the blacks are all blocked up. Can anyone give me some guidance? Thanks. Mike
