Epson R1800 problem

Epson R1800 problem

2007-05-28 by jeff

I am using QTR and trying to print B+W with my R1800. I am using the
Quad R1800 as the "Printing Model". The colors output well; however,
the ink smudges on Epson Glossy and EPson Semigloss paper. The
smudges are so bad that one touch and the black comes off on your
fingertips.

I am doing something wrong? Is there a solution for this?

Sounds as if you are using matte (MK) black ink. On
gloss/luster/semigloss paper you need to use Photo (PK) black.

That was my guess too. When using the Epson driver, it will
automatically select the correct black ink based on the media type.
Not sure whether QuadtoneRIP has the same feature built-in.
