QTR prints very slow on Mac Pro

QTR prints very slow on Mac Pro

2007-08-18 by Chuck Behrman

Has anyone noticed a drastic reduction in print speed on an Intel-based Mac?

I recently upgraded to a MacPro Quad 3 GHz machine (4GB RAM) CS3. QTR is printing about
one line per 5 seconds!

Any ideas?

Chuck

I've been using a macpro 2.66 with six gigs of dram for some months now
and print to a 2200. I haven't noticed any slowdown in printing compared
to an AMD powered dual processor PC or a souped up G4 that I used in the
past. My guess is there may be a problem with your driver. Might be
worth an uninstall and reinstall of QTR.

Thanks for the suggestion - reinstall solved the problem.

BTW - I've been experimenting with papers from Premier - they look beautiful.

Premiere makes a luster paper (Platinum Rag) that prints very nicely with the K6 inkset.
Like other luster papers, it doesn't adhere completely and will smudge. I've tried spraying
with Premiere Printshield -- this does seem to seal the print.
