Curves Built Using GG 2.2

I made a mistake while creating my last set of QTR curves. I used a 5% gray target that had been converted to Gray Gamma 2.2, rather than the normal one. But perhaps this was a happy mistake. If my images are in Gray Gamma 2.2, and I print them to a GG 2.2 based curve, don't I simply avoid an image conversion? Have I missed something? The prints look great btw. Terry.
