Printing at a Snails Pace

I am running QTR 2.5.1.9 on my XP system using an Epson 2200 and recently it has been running at a snails pace. It prints a line or two, pauses, prints a line or two and pauses. At this pace printing 12x18 will take until my next birthday. Any suggestions? Regards, Tony
