Epson 4000/ QTR problem

Epson 4000/ QTR problem

2007-11-29 by turcophotography

Forgive me if this is very basic but I am having some trouble using
QTR with my Epson 4000 and UC inks. For the specifics I'm using the
latest QTR version 2.5.2 with Photoshop CS and Mac OSX 10.4.11.
Basically I've got two problems that I imagine are fairly simple but I
just can't figure them out. The first is the resolution. I've set
everything up to the best of my knowledge to print 1440 super with
matte black ink. (Printing through Photoshop) And the resolution looks
like it's maybe 720 at best. The tone looks good enough for now but I
just can't get past the resolution.
The second problem is cropping. I've gone through and set up custom
paper sizes and set them up as presets but it appears the information
is still coming across as standard letter size paper so half the image
is not getting printed.
Thanks in advance for any light you might be able to shed on my confusion.

re paper sizes: see the pdf that comes with the rip re the borders - basically your
document size must be smaller than your page setup size by the amount of those borders
- selectable in PAGE setup> manage custom sizes> printer margins - the quad whatever
will be selectable and will tell you the border sizes

any time your doc size approaches page setup size it does that "print half A4" thing
just give it some space

You can't print edge to edge..

Also re resolution: you just have to print on the highest one
it is slow

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
