Profiles not showing up...

2007-12-27 by milneco2000

Hi-

I have an Epson R300 and purchased Piezography K6 inks for them a few
weeks ago, and just got around to installing them. I think I got the
last inkset EVER, since when I went back to the site a few hours later
they weren't there.

My problem is that I can't seem to get the correct profiles to show up
in the QTR dialog box. The only profiles available are those that
start with the letters "GQ," I assume this is a type of paper. I'm
trying to print on enhanced matte, which I guess now is called
archival matte.

This is a pretty basic question I'm sure. I've searched the forum a
few times and couldn't find anything relevant to this. I think it
might be a problem with how I installed QTR. I made a file, "R300" on
my disk, and proceeded to drag ALL of the profiles in, followed by the
R300 install script, as explained in the tutorial. At this point I
could only see the GQ profiles. After this didn't work I deleted the
"R300" file on my disk and made a new one. I then dragged only the
profile folder called "R200-R300-K6" into it and ran the install
script. No profiles were available at all. I deleted that and made a
new one, and then dragged all the profiles into it along with the
"InstallR300-K6.command" file I found inside the R200-R300-K6 profile
folder just for kicks. That of course didn't work either.

At the time I had this problem I was running Mac OSX panther and
printing out of Photoshop Elements 3. Since then (in the last 24 hours
) I have upgraded to CS3 and Leopard... I couldn't figure out why
CS3 wasn't installing, and then realized I was rolling on panther
which of course does not support CS3.

Thanks for any help.
