Before I load this on my new Vista OS 32 bit Home Premium, Are there any
known issues?

A problem I have with a couple of programs is that my Vista laptop will not
allow me access to the data in a /Program Files folder other than via the
program that is there. I'm sure this is a security feature and could be
from my security software, but so far I have not found a way to turn it off.
I might see if I can load QTR outside /Program Files and get around this
snafu.

You mean that if you try and use Windows Explorer to go to and copy data
from a folder it stops you?

Well I haven't had that problem yet, but this is just two weeks old now and
I am still loading programs, plug ins, extension goodies, et la

Yes, it shows the folder as empty even though the relevant application shows
the files. When I'm in the app and use the mouse right click to try and
copy the data, it doesn't work either.

Paul, could you be more specific? Do you mean you try to open some file
from your application in that folder, and it shows you something, while
Explorer shows nothing? Could you tell which application, and which
kind of files? Normally, if an application uses standard File Open
dialog, it follows the same restrictions as Explorer. Another question -
- do you see it in x86 or in 64 bits OS? Could you try to run this app
elevated? It means select this application any way, right click on that
and select "Run as Administrator".

Yes, but never mind.

The problem may have been solved by one of the multitude of upgrades that
have come in since I last ran into the problem, including a major McAfee
upgrade that just came in when I fired up the laptop this evening. Notepad
now seems to see the QTR files and open them just fine, and Excel is now
opening PFP data files normally. Hopefully this was just an early glitch
that is history now.

Thanks for the concern.
