Howard,
You can create a very quick and simple curve for any ink, or
combination of inks. Open the Curve Creation interface, select a
single ink and use a Plot List. For your chosen ink, select Load
Curve, then click the curve box and the "Point List" tab. Enter points
of 0,0 and 100,100. This will create a straight line curve that will
print out the full tonal range from 0 to 100% ink. It won't be
linearized, and ink limits will be high, but it is a good way to create
a simple curve for any ink.
I have used this to print a 21 step grayscale and to determine ink
limits for just the black channel. I also have created these to help
blow out the lines of a specific color in my 4000 when it was clogged.
