K7 Complimentary Profiles

2005-07-26 by Chris Hargens

According to the Piezography website, as well as John Cone's message to
this group, complimentary K7 profiles have been created for the 2200.
These profiles/curves work with QTR. Will these profiles be
downloadable with QTR, or perhaps as a separate K7 curves folder from
the QTR website, or will they be downloadable from the Piezography
website?

Hi Chris,

The K7 profiles will be included in the standard QTR package.

I just received some new profiles and until new full package is done
I've put the profiles as a separate zip file that you can download and
install. See the 2.3 beta download page:
   http://homepage.mac.com/royharrington/FileSharing3.html

The download is a .zip file that is good on either Mac or PC. Unzip the
file and place the .quad files into:
Mac: CurveDesign/CurveDropBox/Quad2200
PC: Program Files\QuadToneRIP\quadtone\Quad2200

On the Mac also run "Run-Install-Curves"

Roy, thanks to you and John Cone for making these available. I was
able to get them to the right folder (Windows) and can load them as
curves in the main QTRgui window, but can't see them in
CurveCreation. Is there another step to installing them as
viewable/editabl curves in a Windows system?

Thanks,

Bob

The Cone-supplied curves are not in the editable .qidf format just
the binary .quad format. You should be able to view the actual
curves however in QTRgui by right clicking on the curve. There is one
curve that I did K7-Photo-Rag that does have the .qidf file. (This is
in the 2.3 version not previous versions). Use this as a model if you
want to make your own.

Roy, I cannot find the K7-Photo_Rag .qidf file. I see the .quad file
under 2200 Quadtones, but not the editable version. Also, it was not
in the original unzipped files from your download site. Am I missing
it somewhere? (I am using 2.3)

Thanks,

Bob

Roy, thanks again for all your help. This worked fine. Only problem
was there are some nonmonotonicly decreasing numbers in the
linearizing sequence, but I'll need to read those for my paper any
way.

That LINEARIZE is all one line. Check the value 41.99 this may have
been chopped in two. This would give that error.
