Hi,
I was wondering if QTR used less coloured ink than the ABW driver on the K3 printers.

Yes Richard, provided you choose the right curve.

I just looked at the ink graphs for the various QTR R2400 curves for 
standard K3 inks on Epson Enhanced/Archival Matte paper, and found as 
follows:

The QTR 'warm' curve  uses no colour ink at all -- just black and two 
greys. If avoidance of colour ink is your aim, I don't think you can 
beat this with ABW.

The QTR 'sepia' curve adds small amounts of M, Y, m.

The QTR 'neutral' curve adds small amounts of C, M, c, m.

The QTR 'cool' curve adds small amounts of C, M, c, m.
