Is Eboni an Image Specialists ink?

Is Eboni an Image Specialists ink?

2008-02-08 by ferdinand_paris

I asked this question on the DigitalB&WPrint group, which I would have
thought was the more appropriate group, but got no responses, so am
trying here.

I've bought some bulk Image Specialists K3-equivalent ink, but not
from MIS. It was a 9 ink set, and so included both MK and PK. What I
was wondering was whether the MK is likely to be the "Eboni" ink that
is so often mentioned here, or is this an MIS-only ink? I am assuming
that as both MK and PK are included in the set, that it's not the
"universal" K that MIS also sell. So the question is: is "Eboni" an
Image Specialists ink? Does anyone know?

I called Image Specialists to ask about buying MK ink for Epson. They
asked if I was an end user. I said yes. They mentioned they do not
sell to end users. I then asked if MIS would be the place to get their
ink. And indeed they said the distributor they'd have directed me to
would have been MIS.

So MIS buys from Image Specialists. Do they add something to the MK
this I do not know.

But Eboni being sold at such a good price by MIS I won't try to get it
from IS. If it's had been a different ink I would have like to test
and try it. But now? Nope.

I am sure others know more about this.
