File format required by Quadtone RIP

File format required by Quadtone RIP

All the guidance seems to be that tiff files are needed to print with the RIP. To begin with I
followed this rule carefully, but then I found it seems to print perfectly well from Lightroom
using the original dng file. Am I missing something? Is there a penalty?

John,
I print routinely from Photoshop without saving the files. This is on a Mac running Leopard.
The Photoshop dialog box offers me the QTR printer as an option. Even if I forget to select it
there, it is still available as an option when I go to the Leopard print dialog box.

It may be that in the windows environment, using QTR as a stand along printing application
it needs TIFF files.

The Mac version prints from any program so the format is not important.
The PC version on the other hand has a special print program QTRgui that
takes tiff files.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
