PhotoBlack with QTR?

PhotoBlack with QTR?

2008-03-14 by Robert Gaunt

I just switched from Matte Black Ink to Photo Black to try Ifords
Gold Fiber Silk paper. I reinstalled Epson's drivers but am having
difficulty with getting QTR installed and working. Question- is it
possible to run QTR with Photo Black ink or will it only work with
Matte black? I'm running a Mac G5 IBM chip, OS-10.4.11, Epson 2200,
and trying to install QTR2.4. QTR has worked very well for several
years with the matte black ink, this is my first try with the switch
to Photo ink. This is also my first experience with this group, hope
I'm on topic and not out of line somewhere. Thanks for any help, Bob-G

QTR doesn't care what inks you are using or which ink is in what
cart/slot. The profiles tell QTR where the inks are and how much ink
to lay down from each cart.

Switching from MK to PK ink and using a new paper will require a new
profile as QTR profiles are generally printer, ink, and paper
specific. Someone may have already created a profile -- search the
archives.

Thanks for reply. I retried the installation this morning and it went smoothly, everything
working well. Maybe the planets weren't aligned properly yesterday or something.
