Does anyone have experience / profile for Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper using QTR, Epson 2200 and Neutral K7 Ink? I have been using the Epson Enhanced Matte with the imbedded QTR profiles and it works fine (I think). I'm considering switching to Hahnemuhle or Moab but I have a box of the Epson Velvet Fine Art and I'd like to use but with the correct profile. Second question: which of the various Hahnemuhle papers works best with the QTR, neutral k7 inks, and an Epson 2200? Wayne

Jon Cone and his team never made one and despite a bit of prompting don't seem inclined or able to make one for the 2100/2200. They have profiled VFA for newer printers like the 1400. You can of course make your own curves with the QTR curve creator if you have access to the tools, but it won't have the same smooth tonal transitions as Jon Cone's curves. Another option is to take an existing Jon Cone curce and linearise it for VFA. I decided, based on examining curves for printers where they have profiled VFA, that it's such a very different paper to the other standard ones that this approach could well be fraught. I decided to save my ink and paper. > Second question: which of the various Hahnemuhle papers works best > with the QTR, neutral k7 inks, and an Epson 2200? Photo Rag is the standard. There are reports of issues of variability from batch to batch in recent years. Another option is Innova Smooth Cotton High White, which is more consistent but does not have as high a Dmax. F_P

Thanks for the repsonse. I have a PrintFixPro Spectrocolorimeter (currently marketed by DataColor under the name Spyder3) which I have used successfully with color printing on my Epson 3800 but I'm not clear how or if it could be used with QTR. I have never seen the Curve Creator software that Quadtone RIP talks about in any of my downloads. And I was under the impression that it was strictly an eye ball calibration (as opposed to using a Spectrocolorimeter). What is your experience with curve creation for QTR? Wayne
