Epson R2880 and banding

Hello all, My SP2200 died recently and I just replaced it by an Epson R2880. I am happy to use it in colour and I wanted to immediately try it with QTR and the UltraChrome inks(too lazy to redo a K7 conversion lol). The software sends me error messages but it works anyway. So I managed anyway to calibrate my curves and I was horrified to realize that there was banding on the first 0,5in of the separation prints. The print definition of this printer is 1440x5760, so the same that the well known r1800 and I ask myself if I don't meet the same problem of banding this one... for the moment, I just print 9x12 and 12x18 on 13x19 sheets so I can just center the pictures to avoid the problem but I anyway feel screwed :(.
