ut14 (r1400) and luster paper

2009-01-07 by linuxgangster

I bought some nice redriver 75lb. Arctic Polar Luster paper (they also
call it satin).

Anyway I am trying to get a print going with it, so I tried out the
Kirkland Neutral NCA icc profile and the print gave me a very weak
black....not even black just grey.

Could someone point me to the proper workflow on getting this paper or
even the Epson premium luster paper to print?

Thanks

See http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/UT14.pdf

Look at the Epson driver settings on page 7 in particular. Assuming you're
getting a good nozzle check, and using the ICCs I made for an Epson driver
workflow, I'd guess the paper type may be wrong and the driver may be set to
Color Controls instead of ICM-No Color Adjustment.

Are you using Paul Roark's workflow and following it to the "letter"?..I'm using Red River's Ultra-Pro Satin 2 using the curves for ILFORD with excellent results..I can't speak to the other papers..
