ACV curves for Ilford Smooth Pearl and Galerie Gold Fiber EPSON 1400 - UT14

ACV curves for Ilford Smooth Pearl and Galerie Gold Fiber EPSON 1400 - UT14

Hello everyone.

I am just starting with this nice Quadtone RIP and will be pleased to get your help on the QTR-Create-ICC-RGB module.

Following Paul's instruction I finished cool and warm profiles for my Ilford Smooth Pearl and Galerie Gold Fiber Silk papers.
They work pretty well in QTR but I am trying to use them directly from PS.

I understand that you need to applying specific ACV curves in order to use the correct inks as defined in the qidf files (and avoid to have the ebony used by the Epson driver).
I have been trying to use ACV curves from other papers but the result isn't really good.

Does anyone have examples of ACV curves for these papers ?

Thanks for you help.

Jean-Philippe

Thank you Eddie,

which curves do you recommend for these papers ?

I have been trying to use the UT14-IlfordGold-N-1.acv curve for the profile of the Ilford Smooth Pearl (RC paper) and Galerie Gold Fiber Silk but the result is loosing contrast compare to the direct use in QT rip.
Do you know if we can find other curves for UT14 ?

When I create in PS3 the raw image to be used in conjunction with the txt with the QTR-Create-ICC-RGB.exe I get these PS3 error message

some image data (for example, printer settings)
cannot be saved with this file format. Save
anyway ?

I did save in raw format and use it in QTR-Create-ICC-RGB.exe but I am not too much sure if this cannot corrupt the resulting icc profile (and explain the bad result I have so far)

Did you get such error messages when profiling ?

Any idea what to do ?

Thanks for your help.

Jean-Philippe

Hi..

Sorry, but I havn't used Ilford Pearl, however I do use Red River Ultra-Pro Satin using the Ilford Gold fiber Curve with good success..I'm only using ready-made curves for my work..Search th archives of this group and I think you will find some..I have also found profiles for other papers using QTR..different results than using the 'curves", but quite nice...
