Newbie - MAC-Epson Stylus Pro 4000 Ejects Blank Pages

2009-05-17 by barrindp

Gday,

I have a Mac Pro (2 x 3ghz Dual Core Intel Xeon, Mac OSC10.5.7) and Epson Stylus Pro 4000 now connected by USB cable.

When I try and print using QuadTone Rip, the printer starts up, checks the paper size, runs the print head over once (no in ejected), then ejects the page and returns to the ready state. So it would seem that Quad Tone is communicating with the printer correctly, but not sending any Image Data. I have been trying to print the Inkseparation.psd and tiff files with no luck. I have tried the old favorites of restarting both the mac and the printer.

Any help glady accepted.

Many thanks

Dom

Hi Dom,

There's a DiagnosticScript in the the QuadToneRIP folder. Try
printing something
simple -- standard options. Then run diag script and send me the
output text to see if there are any errors. A screen capture of the print pages
may be useful. I assume you are printing through Photoshop -- what version?
and what color management options are you selecting on PS print page?

Gday Roy,

I am using CS4. Have attached the screen shots I hope I am doing it right.

The printer just ejects a blank page, when I print a document from Pages it
prints fine as a BW document (even tho the document has colour).

Hope this helps

Dom
