Hi All,

The main issue with Snow Leopard is some additional permission requirements
for added security of the print system.

For now I'm just going to do a patch rather than a whole release. This patch
simply modifies some of the file permissions. Here's the patch:
Download: http://www.quadtonerip.com/qtrmac/Patch-QTR-2.6.2.pkg.zip

Procedure:
1) You should have 2.6.2 already installed (Install-QTR-2.6.2.pkg)
2) install this patch (Patch-QTR-2.6.2.pkg)
3) then run the printer/ink install from /Applications/QuadToneRIP/Profiles/...

----------------------

Also to clarify the 64-bit issue: Most of the new OS X programs like Finder,
TextEdit, Preview etc. have been changed to 64-bit programs. 64-bit programs
require print dialogs that are 64-bit. QTR does not yet support
64-bit so if you
go to print you may see QuadToneRIP with a line through it. If you see this
that is the reason. QTR will be supporting 64bit in the near future but in the
mean time if you need to print from one of these programs its possible to run
these programs in 32bit mode by running Finder > Get Info and checking
the 32 bit box.

Hello Roy,

I upgraded from 10.5.8 to 10.6 (not the clean install), and my
installed QTR 2.6.2 seems to print well with CS3. Some difference if I
apply the patch?

Thanks and saludos,
jose.

Roy

Thank you for turning the patch around so quickly.

One piece of info after the patch....

I am starting new curves for carbon printing and I wanted to print the calibration image for the 3800. It was a total mess - way too much ink and all 8 colors printed for each line.

yet when I tried to print a regular print calling up a curve they appeared to print ok.

So I went back to my old mac and printed with QTR 2.6 no patch and did the calibration print to make sure it was not a printer problem - came out perfect.
So I went back to my intel mac - tried it again - another total drippy mess.

So .. not sure what the issue is but thought you may want to know that something about the patch does not seem to work with the calibration print.

thanks again.
