Hi, While I am waiting for QTRIP to support the 3880 I am trying to create some ABW mode icc profiles. I understand that the 51 patch chart needs to be loaded into PS CS3 with no profile. However when I print this chart, from the PS Print box do I select 'printer manages colors' ? None of the guides / tutorials seem to tell you this. Some make reference to normal ABW settings. I assume this means printer manages colours. Normally for a colour icc profile I would choose 'No Color management'. PS If anybody knows if you can use the 4880 settings in QTRIP for a 3880 I would appreciate their advice. Thanks beardie

Hi, You can use QTR 2.6.x with your 3880! Ufficially QTR does not support this printer, but if you use 3800 setting you can print with it. Im currently using Espon 3880 with QTR. Ciao, Carlo --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "beardie_the_dragon" <beardie_the_dragon@...> wrote:

Hello, Does not the different ink set call for custom curves? I am completely new to this, however the main difference between 3800 and 3880 is the new ink set, I believe. Hi, dont worry, use 3800 and the if you like make your custom curves for selected paper. The only difference between 3800 and 3880 is the new ink set and printer head. Ciao, Carlo --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, Jakub Vosahlo <vosahloj@...> wrote:

Thanks, did you rename the 3800 files to reflect 3880 or did QTRip just work ? Thanks --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "carlosette@..." <carlo.sette@...> wrote:

Hi, make attention, when you install QTRip you must select QTR 3800 driver so the curves must be for 3800. The you can start from raw neutral curve to create yor custom curve! But is very important to call them in the same format of other use for 3800 installation. At this point call curves install script to install them. I am back trying to figure this out after a break for my own sanity! When I then choose Print in PS CS4, it will not allow me to chose No Color Management, its grayed out! The only choices arePhotoshop Manages Color or Printer Manages Color. I realise that if I change Image-Mode to RGB the No Color Management option returns, but will I invalidate the target by converting to RGB? If the target stays in greyscale, should I let Photoshop Manage Color or the Printer Manager Color ? Assistance appreciated here ..... --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "shileshjani" <shileshjani@...> wrote:

Instead of CS4, you can print from Preview application. It won't color manage.
