Grey profiles don't show in CS3 softproof menu

Grey profiles don't show in CS3 softproof menu

2010-01-24 by Gigiolo

Hi,

I had installed the trial version of Quadtone rip 2.6.2 under Mac OS X 10.6.2.

In Photoshop CS 3 under the softproof menu I can't find the Gray_Matte_Paper.icc and Gray_Photo_Paper.icc profiles. The other profiles (RGB_Matte_Paper.icc and RGB_Photo_Paper.icc) are correctly loaded.

All the profiles are inside the right folder (library/colorsync).

Any ideas?

Thank you,
G.

Try the QTR-Create-ICC-RGB Tool instead.
The outcome is RGB icc.
That should work.

They need to be inside /Library/ColorSync/Profiles, not /Library/
ColorSync

I have the same problem after installing QTR. Gray-matte-paper and Gray-photo-paper profiles don't show up in the print dialog, and they don't show up in the softproof menu. I'm running Snow Leopard, Photoshop CS3, Photoshop CS4. iMac with Intel Core Duo. I've tried changing file permissions on the .icc files, moving them to different locations, duplicating and renaming them, ... Nothing seems to work. The QTR RGB profiles show up. So does the QTR gray lab profile. Why not the matte & photo paper profiles?!

This is an issue with snow leopard -- the gray profiles are not
recognized any more.
The RGB versions are functionally identical and work fine.
