Ilford Gold Fibre on 2200

Ilford Gold Fibre on 2200

2010-01-26 by frankg_photo

Is there a profile, or can anyone recommend the best settings to print neutral black & whites on my 2200 epson and Ilford Gold Fibre Silk?

I have an ilford profile to print directly from phtoshop and this works very well for colour but not for black & white images. Therefore I want to use QTR.

Thanks
Frank
(I'll also post on Digital B&W )

I'm running an Epson 2200 with the Epson inkset and printing on Gold
Fibre Silk. The paper profile I've been using is QTR-Gray Photo
Paper "gray-photo.icc" (and for matte papers, QTR-Gray Matte Paper
"gray-matte.icc"). For the toning curves, I'm using those for
Ilford's Smooth Pearl Cool and Warm. It does a very good job, good
enough for me to sell B&W prints for my part time business. I'm not
quite up to make custom curves and profiles which might do better.
I'll be interested to see what other people here have to say.

Thanks Robert. Where do you find the curves you're using -Ilford's Smooth Pearl Cool/Warm ?
They arent on my QTR list. I'm also not up to making my own. The closest I've found on my list of curves is UCpk-MCeramicLuster cool & warm

There are curves for Ilford Smooth Pearl paper and Epson UC inks in the
files section of the QTR Yahoo Groups web site.

Thank you, I had seen those but they are not named as being for QTR so I thought they were just for printing directly out of Photoshop?
