update qtr to solve printing issue?

I recently had my epson 4000 serviced to fix a clogging issue. it now rarely clogs, thank you epson tech. however, now my qtr prints are not as solid a black as before and a "scuff" line is visible at the top of the print. i use a desktop mac with osx v 10.4.11 with ps cs2 and epson uc inks, with epson printer driver 1.9, and qtr v. 2.2. today, as a test, i loaded my laptop mac with epson printer driver 3.08, then downloaded qtr v2.3.5 and made a print thru the laptop to compare with the desktop print. the laptop won in the black dept. (more solid) and the scuff line is not as apparent. It is a workaround, not a real fix. Since I prefer working with the desktop, I'm thinking maybe by downloading qtr again, maybe things will be better. Since 2.2 is not avail, should I download qtr v 2.3.5 and install it over v2.2? Or am I supposed to remove qtr 2.2 first? What's the proper procedure here? Or is there something I've overlooked?
