Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Re: Custom size has been grayed out after upgraded to 10.6.5 --- fix available

I also found the CUPS 1.4.5 fix to at first work and later on stop working. I finally was able to trace through CUPS and figure out where the problem arises. Its a weird combination of the exact order things are done. I'm not about to fix the OS but it turns out there's a simple way for QTR to just rearrange some data and the problem goes away. So I've made a new download 2.7.1 specifically for this issue on Macs. See: http://www.quadtonerip.com/html/QTRdownload.html Its just a matter of installing this new version and if you've done a lot of messing around with the Quad printers I'd suggest Deleting and Re-creating them with the printer/profile install scripts. Thanks to Walker for narrowing this down to cups in the new OSX. If you are one of the people to go through Walker's CUPS fix, and you also happen to have old PowerPC programs on your machine, and they access printer info, there's a potential for a program crash because of a missing powerpc library. Let me know if this happens. I'm pretty sure this fix will solve the custom sizes but let me know if you have any trouble. Regards, Roy

I had a power failure due to weather and when I restarted custom sizes was not available. I followed the same instructions, leaving Terminal app open and restarted (the same way I did the first time when it worked). Now custom sizes again is not available. By the way the printer was on. I did it again with the printer off & closed the Terminal app, then restarted. Again, custom sizes are not available. > > Any suggestions would be helpful. > > Thanks > Joel
