QTR ink characterization

QTR ink characterization

2010-12-06 by mfrogmoore

Greetings,
New user of QTR (not happy with ABW Epson driver), Win 7, Epson R2400, CS4. QTR 2.7.0.
When I go to print ink characterization page I get very muddy monochrome output only. All documentation indicates that I should be seeing each ink in the color of that ink. I have read and reread Tom's UG and the separate ink characterization PDF. All to no avail. Also, the UG calls out an "inkseparation.psd" file. Calibration mode only calls up a .tif file. I also tried printing (the .tif file) from Photoshop and got a bizarre two color step wedge.
I know that I am doing something stupid, or I have missed some vital point in my reading, but am unable to put my finger on it.
Any ideas?
