Any experience with Jon Cone's K& inkset on 2200??

Hello All,
I am considering converting my epson 2200 to Cone's K7 inkset. Is there
any experience out there in terms of the quality of prints in
comparison to Piezography and how is the mechanical construction and
integrity of the cartridges... e.g. leakage of ink, sturdy fit into the
carriage etc.
I am assuming that the profiles that come with the inkset will be the
usual superb work done by Jon and Co. as in the past.
cheers
Vartkes

Hi All,

Sorry if this shows up twice since I wrote a post and it didn't
post... probably since my account was not used for so long my email
was wrong.

ok onto the questions....

I use Qimage to print because it has vector scaling and did a
beautiful job on my D30 prints upto 12x18. Now I have 1D shots to
print so this might not be so important, but every little bit helps
when upscaling. So my question is, how does this print software
compare? Qimage prints in 16bit (I'm pretty sure... but its been a
long while to mess with this... maybe it handles 16 bit images but
prints 8?). I know on screen I see a huge difference in 8 to 16
bit, so I would think banding of gradients would show up on print
too.... that is if the printer can produce that many shades.

I've downloaded the manual for the quadtoneRIP software which is
what lead me here. I read half the manual and skimmed the last
half. I'm puzzled by how this software works with the K7 inks. The
manual talks about adjusting it warm or cool but the K7 inks are
neutral. Later the manual shows color print testing and again I'm
curious how I would set up for k7 inks. Or is there really no set
up required (haha... one could wish!) :-)

Thanks all,

James
