Using R1800 with Epson OEM inks

I apologise in advance, as I am sure this question has been asked before. I did try a search, but couldn't find the answer I am looking for. When I use the QTR for making digital negatives, the finished negative is brown, not black, as I would have anticipated. As many users will know, the Epson driver does not work with CS4, primarily because there is no ICC profile for the transparency film. Can this be adjusted, to the QTR produces a black negative? If so, please could someone explain what I need to do? As you may have gathered, I have only just emerged out of the darkroom after 30 odd years! Many thanks in anticipation, Gary
