QTR + UT14

2011-09-20 by Thetiot Marcel

Hello

I have a problem with the paper Hanemuhle 308 rag.
I use an Epson 1400 with QTR and carbon inks UT 14.
Simply rub the printed surface to remove the ink layer.
 Is this normal?

H. Photo Rag has an extremely sensitive surface. I have avoided using it,
in part, for this reason.

Sprays help but do not eliminate the problem. They also lower the dmax.
Lascaux Fixativ (used by pastel artists) has the least effect on the image
tone and dmax.

I'd hasten to add though, that despite any particular problem with HPR, inkjet on fine art papers can rarely come into contact with anything that will rub the image area. It may not remove ink, but the surface will be marred on any good paper.

Re: QTR + UT14 (rub off issue)

Regarding rub off, I have noticed rub off a few times due to not agitating the inks. Once I agitated the carts...problem went away.

If this has been mentioned earlier, please ignore this message!
