I'm new but..

I have a 1290 and was going to try Quadtone RIP's . However I only use
Photoshop Elements 3 & QImage. Reading the manual I need LAB mode. I
don't think Elements has that as an option.
Any work around or ideas?

Chris,

You don't need to use Lab mode. Use whatever color space that Elements
supports. I think you have to use RGB for Qimage anyway. When you
print (actually save a tiff) from Qimage use the RGB - Matte Paper or RGB -
Photo Paper printing profile.

Thanks for the quick response. I was not expecting to find profiles
(curves) already made for such an non-pro printer. i will give it a
try.
Again thank you

Chris,

Just to make sure you realize it -- the 1290 will need special inks
for B&W printing. The profiles are for MIS's UT2 inks. See www.inksupply.com
