Roland System 100m

Hi there,

I just recently acquired a 100m.  I'm trying to use
the S&H module to create random filter modulation. 
Can someone give me pointers on how to do this? 

Also, can the S&H be clocked externally?  The front
panel graphics seem like this is possible, but it
didn't work when I tried it?  

Thanks.. really love it, just not too familiar with
modulars (yet!).
