Parts availability?

Parts availability?

2006-04-18 by roberttraum

Thanks for the help guys -- one other question -- are parts available
in general for the 100M in case of repairs? I.e., I bought a SCI Pro
One and it needed repairs at one point -- but the part that needed
repair was one of the proprietary chips that can't be bought anymore --
and I was SOL. I didn't enjoy that experience --

Many Roland vintage synths use(d) chips, etc, that are readily
available even today. Is the 100M one of these?

Let me know if you know -- thanks!

Robert

I have already replied to this post on analogue heaven, but
since some people here might be interested , here we go again :

the vco´s uses ua726 wich are pretty rare but not impossible to find,
and there are the roland´s ota ba662 but these can be replaced with
ca3080,
when it comes to worn out slider pots I have talked to chipforbrains
and eventually they will start manufacturing them, or you can find
sliders with 30mm travel at farnell who can replace the 100m originals,
even if fitting them is a bit tricky...
