Sync-In Mod for 110m module
2006-10-06 by ryktnk
Hi
I've recently discovered it is quite easy to mod the 110m module
to have Osc Sync-in.
It is not too hard, and all you need is :-
a transistor [2sc1815 or bc547 or equiv]
a diode [1n4148 etc]
a 100k resistor.
100pF Capacitor.
I decided to use the VCA OUT LOW socket
as the new SYNC-IN , as i rarely us it, and
avoids having any new sockets on the front panel.
First disconnect the [black] cable "20" from the main
pcb [this connects to the VCA OUT LOW socket]
You will need to extend this to reach
the back of the PCB.
Locate IC4 [TL082] top right [component side] of main PCB see pic [track side]
Then solder the transistor Collector to Pin 6 of IC4 [TL082] see pic.
Solder the transistor Emitter to ground.
Solder the transistor Base to 100pF cap.
Solder the other end of the cap to the cable "20" to new SYNC IN Socket.
Solder 100k and diode in parallel, from transistor base to ground.
Thats it !
I have posted some pictures showing how to mod
the pcb, and schematic, in the photos section of the forum.
Be careful not to short any tracks, and to insulate
the tracks from the mod.
