I would take Paul's advice on this one.  If you know
nothing of electronics and the board circuitry - leave it
alone!!  Your "Cherry" board may suddenly not work.
Then you'll really have to look hard for something that
may be wrong with it.  I mean - you might be perfectly
fine opening it up.  But, hey - it's YOUR time and
YOUR money...  So YOU do what YOU think is best.
Sounds to me like you almost want something to be
wrong with it.

If you truely want to get it checked out - take it to
a synth tech.  Go to Roland US's site http://www.rolandus.com
and you can locate a tech via their Authoriozed
Support Locator.
