im hearing ya man ..i decided to buy a jp4 from David Daydodge off this list

and am getting the following mods done as i am wanting to play less and 
sequence more..

individual outputs * 4 (1 per voice)
cv/gate ins * 4 (1 per voice)
cv/gateouts (which are also the arpegiator outs) * 4 (1 per voice)

this allows me to get the best of both worlds...its also already had some 
mods done to it to make the oscillators more stable and lower the noise for 
each voice...i cant wait!! this will be my first modded synth..should be 
fun...peace
