A JP-8 FAQ's

A JP-8 FAQ's

2007-12-25 by hamsterdrum85

Hi,

I have watched a Roland Jupiter-8 video on YouTube. The video is
located on this site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XxnPH5qahY and
I was wondering about the synth sound I heard from 1:41 to 2:27 in
the video.

Here are my questions.
1. Does anyone here know how to make that sound on the Jupiter-8?
2. Can anybody show me pictures of what the VCO's, PWM, LFO, VCF,
HPF, VCA, envelopes, and other controls look like when tuned to this
sound?
3. Since I figured that was probably the missing link to the "Human
Touch" metallic brass stabs, can anyone show me what the envelopes
look like when the sound is altered to go from a pad to a stab?
4. Can anyone send me at least a wav file of the full-length Middle C
note in that altered sound?

Please answer me ASAP.

Dean Rumsey

Notes: I now figured that sound was done on the Jupiter-8 because I
recorded the audio of the footage with Goldwave and found out that
the waves look unidentifiable and similar to the waves clipped from
the "Human Touch Extended Mix". I now know it wasn't an Oberheim
because I have a demo of a VST Oberheim synth. I also tried the VST
Memorymoog, SCI Prophet-5, Yamaha CS-80, Roland Juno-6 ,and PPG Wave
2.2 emulators and still never successfully got that sound probably
because of how they're all built.
