Disclaimer: this is no more than an opinion since I haven't actually seen you JP8. First I'll try to find out what the problem is... ~ -----Original Message----- ~ From: Brent Haeseker ~ Subject: [AH] Jup-8 problem ~ ~ ~ My Jup-8 works great except one thing - it takes 45 mintues to warm ~ up!!! If I try to play it before it warms up - not all the ~ notes work. This could mean that one or more module panels is out of order, or just makes fun of you by going off-line sporadically. There are test-modi that allow you to SEE what modules are generating sound by reading the LED's from the program (= memory) buttons. I'll get back to you on that one (have to look it up). ~ Is this normal or something to worry about? It's not normal, heating-up in a room at chamber-temperature (+/- 20 degrees Celcius) shouldn't take more than 30 minutes, then you press "tune" and voila. What happens if/when you press the "tune" buttone right after starting-up the JP? Do you see the program LEDs run? If so, how many cycles? Otherwise it ~ works - oh, it ~ does get hot as hell on the heat sink, which is to be ~ expected, but you ~ could scramble an egg on it (why doesn't the Jup-6 need one?) Scrambling eggs is not a feature mentioned in either Roland's brochures or the JP manual, therefor its save to think this is far from normal. The heat sink gets warm, not hot! You should be able to touch it without burning your fingertips. ~ Thanks ? ~ ~ Brent RVe ~ PS - (I still got my DX5 for sale) PS: How much?
