Re: [AH] Jupiter 6 EPROM

Hai, I found the following info at Music Machines. Unfortunately Winky wasn't able to point me in the direction of RELEVANT information. I'm sure I've seen a downloadable EPROM update somewhere...just don't remember when/where. Maybe if you search the net intensively it might turn up again. Sorry for that. But I wonder, with this download you'd still have to burn your own EPROMs, not? Are you able to do that yourself? Maybe it's the best solution to contact Roland after all. Asking won't hurt, will it? Good luck, RVe ---from musicmachines:--- From marco.schumacher@... Thu Nov 10 15:14:59 1994 Date: Fri, 25 Feb 1994 17:13:33 +0100

From: Marco Schumacher <marco.schumacher@...> To: Mike Perkowitz <map@...> Subject: Upgrade for Jupiter 6... I found the midi data sheet for the 6.0 EPROM version which I have installed too: After power on following messages are sent: Ch1, all notes off, omni off, poly on If you configure in whole mode a Midi Channel, say 1, then, if you split your keyboard, the upper part will have channel 1 and the lower part will be channel 2. If you are in ch-A upper part configured to MIDI channel 16 then the lower part is automatically assigned to MIDI channel 1. So always remember: lower = upper + 1 as long as upper < 16. TRANSMITTED DATA: If MIDI channel is changed, following messages are sent: OFF messages for being ON notes, Old ch-A (and ch-B) ALL NOTES OFF, OMNI OFF, POLY ON New ch-A (and ch-B) ALL NOTES OFF, OMNI OFF, POLY ON NOTE ON messages for being pressed notes. When PATCH PRESET button is pressed, following messages are sent: OFF messages for being ON notes, ch-A (and ch-B) ALL NOTES OFF, OMNI OFF, POLY ON ch-A (and ch-B) PROGRAM CHANGE, NOTE ON messages for being pressed notes. When all notes turn OFF: ch-A (or ch-B) ALL NOTES OFF Tune command is transmitted, too. RECOGNIZED RECEIVE DATA: After power on following receivers mode is set as follows: OMNI OFF, POLY (power on with TUNE button pressed: OMNI ON, POLY. When MIDI channel is channged, the OMNI mode will be turned OFF) Tune is recognized, too. Hope this gives you enough information because thre is not much more to tell. It's still one of the first MIDI compatible synthesizers. But it simply sounds great. Have fun. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Marco Schumacher Centre de Recherche Public Henri Tudor Ingenieur de developpement 6, rue Coudenhove-Kalergi Projet de recherche CIMOO L-1359 Luxembourg-Kirchberg Europe marco.schumacher@crpht fax:(352)424975 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- From marco.schumacher@...
