Subject: Re: [AH] dumbass jupiter 8 question Hi David, The 5-pin 180 degrees DIN connector is used for a variety of targets, including audio, DIN-sync and MIDI. In case of a standard Jupiter-8, the 5-pin DIN port is used to sync the Arpeggiator to external DIN Sync sources. It should read 'Arpeggio Clock' underneath the port. Now if your Jupiter-8 has more 5-pin DIN connectors on the back, then there is a possibility that your synth has been retrofitted with MIDI. Cheers, Martijn <<hi everyone, for those of you not currently doing time in sing sing prison i have a question. on the back of my jupiter 8 there is a midi port, thing is i cant get it to work, no problem so far since the ad didnt mention midi at all, i was surprised it turned out to have a midi port. But i just saw a picture of a dcb port (i thought maybe this midi port is actually a dcb port) but it dont look nothing like it. so we have midi port which every is familiar with and dcb which looks something like a real small printer port, So what does the standard non-midified back of a jupiter look like ? Just in case i got lucky and it is a midified jupiter, yeah extremly lucky, is there a special way to operate it ?? ok thnx david>>
