Hiya all of you who have sometime tuned a jp4 "the way it should be done"
eg. the Service Manual way. Well, hiya all the rest also. Got a problem:

I'm tuning my JP-4 at my school, and got to point 5. on the manual, which
would be the VCO tune&width part. I got the tuning right on all voices, but
didn't get the width right on the last voice (in poly-2 mode). The trimmer
just didn't turn enough. I tried all sorts of funky stuff, re-adjusting the
tune-trimmer, going down one octave, portamento switch, but just didn't get
it right. Any thoughts?

If none of the components have gone bad, usually you can adjust
both the VCO frequency trimmer and the width trimmer to get a
good range out of both units. The VCO frequency and width trimpots
interact with each other.

Also - remember the trimpots on the back of the unit. You might
have to adjust that trim pot as well to get everything within range.
