which is best jupiter-8 clone ?

which is best jupiter-8 clone ?

2004-03-11 by Frank Govaerts

Hi,

Does anyone know of an analog (not a virtual) clone of the jupiter-
8 ? There are enough clones of the MiniMoog but not the jupiter-8.
The JP8000 series and even the latest Varios do not come close.

Regards,
Frank

Hello,

the jupiter 6 :-)
or u may want to try an Alesis Andromeda
it is such a shame that nobody makes
analog polyphonic synths anymore nowdays !

korg poly6, trident, roland juno6, yamaha CSs 60 70
simpler cheaper alternatives
i had and like the juno6 very much and it has the same VCF Roland chips
and "sound" of the jp8 ..
but when i got the jp6 i sold the juno

good luck

Regards

Thanks,

I will look for other samples of the Andromeda. The samples I've
heard from the Andromeda did not have that warm sound of the Jup. 8 -
more like virus or nordlead.
The MKS80 is also more affordable. Last week one was sold for about
600$ on ebay (Korea).
I currently have the alpha Juno 2 and I'm very happy with its
characteristic sound, but it is on itself not enough to fill the
soundspectrum. The JP8 does I think. I've also a Matrix 6 but its
dynamics range is not very good.

Rgds,

Frank
